My Sketchbook

This month's theme for our blog carnival is about what inspired us in 2015 and how it came through in our work. Did you take a trip, workshop, etc. that really influenced your designs this year?

COLOR!
This year was full of experimenting for me. I started with enamels last year, and this year I feel like I've had a lot of interesting things happening in my work. My daughter started participating in the creation of the pieces. She discovered she liked the jeweler's saw, which was a blessing, because it's not one of my favorite tools, so we come up with ideas and designs, she saws and files, I do the enameling and we both do painting enamels.

Check out what other EtsyMetal members are saying about their inspiration this year:

I'm so very late for this month's Etsymetal Blog Carnival, but I was without Internet access for almost 2 weeks. I apologize for the delay, but here it is:

It is time for the Etsy Metal blog carnival. This months topic is "Back to School" What are some of the new things or techniques you have added to your work.

Well, there is definitely a new technique I have been obsessing with over the last few months. Enamel! I have been sifting, painting, stenciling, and doing some sgrafitto. I bought an excellent book by Linda Darty "The Art of Enameling", with detailed explanations, samples, and project ideas. I tried a few techniques, and experimented with my own. I have finally found a process that I feel original and truly from within. I'm having so much fun with it.

Etsy Metal Blog Carnival

It’s time once again for the monthly EtsyMetal Team Blog Carnival! This month we are showing a pictorial article of just a few of our favorite things. I am a lucky woman. I'm blessed with a good, happy life that I enjoy very much, surrounded by people I love. For that I am very grateful.

This blog carnival is a great way to get to know our members. Please click on other members blog links at the bottom of this article.
